Building Industry Consultants Services, International (BICSI) is an international organization charged with educating, training and certifying cable installers with respect to standards set by Telecommunications Infrastructure Association/Electronic Industries Association (TIA/EIA). In order to maximize your investment in tel/data wiring, it is recommended that companies choose only contractors that have been trained and certified by BICSI. Most companies are not willing to invest the time and expense to acquire this certification, not only because of the initial investment, but BICSI also requires ongoing training to retain certifications. Many architects and engineers are now requiring in their plans/specifications for new construction projects that only BICSI certified companies are authorized to bid on their jobs.
